Mediterranean Insecurity
Dear Colleague,
We are currently most happy to accept papers for publication on the website of Mediterranean Insecurity.
As you probably know, the paper will also be published inside the books of the series Mediterranean Insecurity as well.
If you would like to submit a paper for review, you are invited to forward your manuscript, drafted in MS Word, and sent as an email attachment, to: laura.sanfelice@mediterraneaninsecurity.it
You can write the paper (at least 5000 words) in English, Italian or French.
About us:
Mediterranean Insecurity is a website hosting reflections on the situation of the “Wider Mediterranean” region, the root causes of its instability, the challenges, the threats and the risks for littoral countries and for maritime trade. The founders deem that the Mediterranean, placed at the center of the “World Island”, is too frequently a subject not adequately considered, while its root problems, influencing actions and conflicts in the area, are often neglected, with the result that decision-makers often fail to grasp the significance of what happens there, thus taking wrong decisions.
The scope of Mediterranean Insecurity is not to act as a news agency, following daily events, rather it intends to be a forum for discussion and reflection, with the aim of becoming a reference for all decision-makers and scholars, by publishing studies, researches and essays at academic level on the most important and structural problems of the region, in order to raise general awareness and knowledge on the region itself, and to provide media with background information, as well as giving political leaders a cultural basis for policy development.
The website has mainly a geo-strategic and historical focus, and welcomes any contribution on issues like terrorism, migration, trade, conflicts, energy disputes, maritime conflicts, cultural divides etc. No limits are set for the length of papers, as the more profound they are the most welcome will be. The papers should follow academic standards, i.e. before expressing ideas, the writer should develop the background history on the subject under discussion, supported by notes, so to give strength or his/hers ideas and policy proposals.
